Anita originally comes from Adelaide, South Australia.  She moved to NSW to work in Immunology research for seven years before studying Veterinary Science at Sydney University, graduating in 2008.  She recently lost her beloved Bones, a 4 year old SharPei cross, to lymphoma, but still has a 6 year old German Shepherd named Mr Cooper.  Anita's interests are general medicine, and she has a soft spot for pocket pets and the occasional ferret.

'Nectar' is Anita's 4 year old male bearded dragon - a very handsome fellow!

  • Dr Kate Worthing
    BVSc (Hons I)

Dr Kate Worthing is the most recently recruited member of our veterinary team.  Kate graduated in 2010 from Sydney University and has since worked in a practice in Newcastle, as a medical and emergency intern in Sydney and has also been a locum during that time.  Kate grew up in Armidale in northern NSW and her interests include bushwalking, music, soccer, surfing, cooking, travelling and horse riding.

Seamus is Kate's gorgeous, not to mention incredibly handsome ginger little man.

  • Dr Jessica Green
    BVSc

Jessica initially worked at AAH as a locum, but we were very happy when she decided to join our team on a more permanent basis.  Jessica graduated from the University of Sydney in 2008.  She worked in the USA for the following 4 years in small animal practice, and then did a stint in emergency and critical care in Melbourne for 18 months.  She is very happy to finally be settled back in Sydney helping the lovely people of Annandale and the Inner West to take care of their pets.  Jessica has a special interest in internal medicine and emergency medicine.

Jessica very recently adopted a gorgeous little Chihuahua X named Foxy-Lupe, who is the new-found apple of her eye.  In her spare time Jessica loves travelling, reading and taking Foxy to the beach.  Jessica is starting her Masters of Veterinary Studies this year.

  • Dr Joanna Curry
    MVB

Joanna graduated from UCD in Dublin, Ireland in 2009 and spent 3 years working in mixed practice in Northern Ireland.  She then spent a year working and travelling in New Zealand, and another year back in Ireland as a small animal locum.  She has relocated to Sydney in September and is glad to be joining the team at Annandale Animal Hospital to continue working with small animals.

Waffles is Joanna's 4 year old whippet terrier cross, who is unfortunately still in Ireland.  As she is such a timid little dog she would hate the plane ride over here, but thanks to Skype they can see each other regularly, and she now has her own bedroom in Joanna's parents' house.
